What is PPSU and why does Grosmimi use it?
PPSU (polyphenylsulfone) is a high-performance polymer also used in certain medical applications and in aerospace. It withstands 200 °C, so it survives repeated boiling and steam sterilisation without warping or clouding, and no BPA was detected in the components tested.
How do I sterilise Grosmimi products?
Boiling, steam and UV sterilisation are all fine. PPSU is rated to 200 °C, the silicone parts to 180 °C. Take the product apart first so water reaches every surface, and let the silicone parts dry fully.
Which product suits which age?
Feeding bottles from birth, with teat stages 0 to 4 as the flow needs to increase. Straw cups 200 ml from around 6 months, 300 ml from around 12 months. Tumblers and food trays from roughly two years, when a child drinks and eats unaided.
What is PureSeal™ and does the cup really not leak?
PureSeal™ combines a cross-cut silicone straw that blocks backflow with an air valve that equalises pressure inside the cup. Each part works on its own, and together they keep the cup closed when it is tipped, shaken or lying in a bag. As with any cup, the seal depends on the parts being assembled correctly and the silicone being in good condition.
How hard is it to clean?
That is what CleanCore™ is about: fewer than five parts, an opening wider than 40 mm, and full disassembly with no hidden crevices. Narrow straws need the dedicated brush — it is the one part a sponge cannot reach.
